RFU Governance Reforms

RFU Governance Reforms

Damian Dixon28 Apr - 10:27

Outcome of the SGM announced

Following the outcome of the RFU Special General Meeting, where members voted to reject the proposed governance resolutions, there is a significant number of volunteers and representatives who engaged fully in the process. Voting members do want to see reform of the RFU at Board, Executive and Council levels which facilitates efficient operation of the Sport through the link between Club, County and Council representatives that helps running the game easier whilst strengthening accountability of decision-making to Member Clubs.

Members and stakeholders will shortly set out a clear and constructive way forward that builds on the many positive elements already identified, while addressing the concerns raised by members across the country.

Our aim is to work collaboratively to ensure that modern, effective RFU governance underpins a high performing organisation that meets the needs of all its members.

We look forward to working with all stakeholders to deliver an efficient operating model underpinned by robust governance that is transparent, representative, and fit for the future.

Voting Results:

Resolution 1A - FOR 387 votes 45.16% AGAINST 470 votes 54.84%

Resolution 1B - FOR 380 votes 44.44% AGAINST 475 votes 55.56%
